Dumping Dept
Do you feel like you have control of your money (spending), or does your money have control over you?
I feel that I mainly have control over my money and what I spend it on. Although sometimes I feel that money has control over me because there are a few things that you must spend money on such as food, gas and other necessities that get you around from day to day.
What do you think this means?
The quote is meaning that we do not get out of debt by earning more money instead we get out of it by replacing that habit with one that is better and can better help us to get out of that debt. An appropriate habit to replace the habit of dept with would be to pay your bills on time and make sure that you don't have that standing debt.
Are you worried about getting into financial trouble as you get older?
Does money factor in to your culminating project/or career path you have chosen? If so, how? Should money be a major consideration in choosing your life’s path?
Money does play a crucial factor in the career that I have set ahead of me. It is something that I have to consider whether or not the job is worth the pay or not, and that is something that you must look at for every job. Therefore i believe that money should be a major consideration in choosing your life's path. That is because all of the insurance, taxes, medical bills and other things that are going to come along in your life span that you must pay for.

Nano Sensors Can Save Buildings From Decay
A team of engineers obtained from various engineering schools in the United States, have come together to develop a new system that could detect temperature, moisture, acidity, carbon dioxide and chloride levels, and even developing cracks in concrete. This new wireless system of measurement could be a breakthrough to keeping buildings intact, sound, and well maintained. The wireless nano probes that would be inserted into foundations and columns would be able to detect every flaw and send it to a maintenance crew for that building. The devices are named MEMS which is derived from the word microelectromechanical system. They are similar to the long gauge nanotube sensors that were tried in the feasibility study a while back. This new device could have the ability to advance other systems in a wide range of fields such as transportation, communication, military and medicine. Not only can it enhance things in those fields but it can greatly enhance those areas involved in the civil engineering field as well. The device would allow civil engineers to keep a constant check on bridges and other buildings and structures to prevent problematic situations in the future. The device could be everywhere in a few years and may leave our buildings standing for centuries.

5. What do you actually do with your free time?
I like to spend my time hanging out with friends, hiking, camping, rappelling, climbing, or going to sporting events.
6. What types of activities energize you?
I am the kind of guy that doesn't like to sit around. I like to be up and about moving and preferably outdoors. Therefore anything that involves a lot of movement I tend to enjoy.
7. What famous people intrigue you?

"You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled by men." - Matthew 5:13
This bible verse is my favorite quote because you can apply it in many different ways to your daily life. The verse is very touching and motivating because everyone on earth is here for a reason, and if you lose your reasoning or saltiness then you are good for nothing except to be trampled by men. Salt is a vital for our body as well, without it we cannot live or have good health.

Tips For Feeling Better About Yourself
1. Do a good deed
2. Make small gestures of good citizenship
3. Keep a resolution
4. Become an expert
5. Boost your energy
6. Challenge yourself physically
The tips listed above to help make you feel better about yourself are things that the average human can do every day to boost their confidence and motivation. I sometimes use these tips without realizing what they can actually do for you. These tips are things that are easy to do and do not require a lot of planning in advance. To me being happy and confident in yourself is important to continue through every day life and making sure you are doing the right things.

Project
For my project I plan to assemble a map of the main roads in Hall county and explain how they are maintained according to their amount of travel. Even in ice storms and other disasters the roads are cleared acoording to how much they are used and traveled. The DOT is now incorporating electronic devices and GPS's in their trucks for them to know which roads to clear first in a storm and know the locations of other trucks throughout the county. I plan on creating a huge map with the roads that would usually be cleared first in a storm and explain how different road surfaces are chosen for certain roads acoording to how much they are traveled and length of time before they plan on paving that road again.

Empathy Quiz
The findings from my empathy quiz tell me that I scored a 41. I somewhat agree with the results from this test but feel like my score should have been higher due to the fact that I feel like I care and listen to people more than average person. I didn’t realize that someone can be taught empathy though. It seems that the feelings and thoughts that you are born with are the ones that should stick with you for the rest of your life. A guy from my church is one who I think that always shows empathy in a positive manner. He is constantly there for others to pick them up when they are down or sad. He is a great guy and I hold a lot of respect to him for that reason. I know a lot of people unfortunately who are lacking people. I feel like that is common among people my age. Many people that are my peers only care for their selves and no one else and they do not think before they speak. They usually are disrespectful towards others, are not silent in a moment of silence, and don’t remove their hat during the national anthem or a prayer. Many people these days are disrespectful and don’t care to show sympathy for those who are down in a time of hardships.

GIS
GIS or Geographic information System is a great source used for mapping and plotting different things by many engineers in today’s world. The software for Hall County is open to public access at no charge and can be helpful to find an amount of acreage, who owns the land, appraised value, and other applications that could take a while to find otherwise. The software has become convenient for me not only at mentorship but at home as well. I could use it to find coordinates on my property or to mark off a section of land and find out how much area there is. The software has the capability to layer things by showing, topography, pipelines, satellite view, or even a basic road view. After new roads are put in or new pipes have been laid, someone goes in to the system and maps out the coordinates for the computer to model. It is then finalized and opens for public viewing. This software is becoming popular with the U.S. government and in this article it shows some of the more modern ways in which it is being used. The U.S. expects it to help us even grow more efficiently in the future and become more environmentally aware while helping improve the environment. Below is the website for Hall County GIS. Feel free to play around but I’m warning you, it is VERY ADDICTING.
